Wednesday November 18th
1. Drill Team – Every Monday night from 1930 to 2130hrs unless otherwise announced. Drill Team is open to all members of 638 Squadron. Members must bring parade boots and their wedge to all practices.
2. Emergency Mock Evacuation & .22 Shoot – 638 will be assisting the Country Haven Retirement Home in Beachburg with an emergency evacuation and then proceeding on to the Beachburg Ottawa River Sportsman’s Club to shoot the .22 rifle. All cadets are encouraged to come out and experience shooting the .22 rifle this coming Saturday November 21. 2015. Lunch will be provided.
Cadets are to be dropped off at the Country Haven Retirement Home located at 1387 Beachburg Rd at 1030hrs (10:30am).
Cadets are to be picked up at the Beachburg and Ottawa River Sportsman’s club located at 770 Beachburg Rd at 1600hrs (4:00pm).
3. Rocket Club Will be meeting this Thursday from 1900 - 2100 hrs at the armoury. The cost is $20. This gets each participant a kit to build their rocket and two engines. Hereafter, the rocket club will meet every second Thursday evening. The club is open to all cadets.
4. Lottery Tickets are available each week at the squadron. All cadets are required to sell one book of tickets. The cost of each booklet is $50 and is required when you sign out your book of tickets. Please see Mrs. Hodder for yours.
5.Krispy Kreme order forms are available tonight from Mrs. Hodder for those people who are unable to print the form off of Facebook. Orders are due back next week.
6. Ground School Classes for cadets interested in applying for the Glider Pilot Scholarship Course, the Power Pilot Scholarship Course, or who just want to learn about flight will be every Tuesday evening from 1900-2100hrs at the Armoury. They will also meet on Wednesday evenings from 1800-1830. Ground school is open to all cadets of all levels and is the first step in learning to fly. For information please speak to WO2 Rochat.
7. Marksmanship Cadets who wish to participate in an air rifle range practice and try out for the Squadron’s Marksmanship Team are encouraged to come out to the Armoury Thursday evenings. Range will be held every Thursday night from 1800hrs to 2100hrs unless otherwise stated. This activity is open to all cadets of the Squadron

Please be advised that due to Canadian Armed Forces Operational Requirements this activity has been moved from 8 Wing Trenton to CFB Borden. Changes to transportation plans are currently being made by our Detachment in North Bay. Details will be shared will all participants once we receive them.
9. National Course Applications for International Air Cadet Exchange, Power Pilot Scholarship, Glider Pilot Scholarship, Advanced Aviation Technology Course - Airport Operations, Advanced Aviation Technology Course - Aircraft Maintenance, and Advanced Aerospace Course are due no later than Wednesday, December 2, 2015. 10. Congratulations to newly minted Lieutenants Wendy McGinley and Alex McGinley.
11. Thanks to all the cadets who participated in the Remembrance Day Parade in Pembroke last Wednesday. 638 Squadron had an excellent turn-out and looked great on parade. You should all be very proud.
