Congratulations to our Marksmanship participants this past weekend who brought home some pretty awesome bling!! Team A members Shanon Rochat, Callie Wagner, Liam Sonoski, Kurtis Kennedy, and, Sarah Longworth were the 1st place winners. Callie Wagner place 1st for overall individual scores. Sarah Longworth placed 2nd in the junior division.
Best of luck to FSgt Frampton & Sgt Frampton who are in Valcartier Quebec this weekend to participate in the National Biathlon Competition.
Drill Team practice Monday night. Drill team without arms will practice from 1930 to 2030hrs. Drill team with arms will practice from 2030 to 2130hrs. Parade boots, wedge, and a filled water bottle are required for all practices. The next Saturday practice scheduled for drill team is March 19.
Ottawa Valley Cadet Sports competition is Sat Mar12. Cadets from Arnprior, Renfrew, Pembroke, and, Petawawa will be competing. Permission forms will be handed out at the end of parade and are due back next Wed (Mar 9).
Rocket club will meet at 1730 next week before the start of cadets. All cadets are welcome. A cost of $20 gets you your rocket to build and two engines to fire on a special day upcoming.
Marksmanship will not take place on Thursdays until further notice.
Lottery tickets are due back now! Please do everything you can to return your tickets.
We will be doing a fundraiser with Value Village on April 2 2016. Save those old clothes for this date and help your Squadron raise some money. More to follow.

Operation Olaf is this coming weekend in order to participate in this activity you will require to have your health card, snow pants, and a water bottle. If you are missing any one of these items you will be given the opportunity to call home and have it delivered to the Armoury, if this is not possible you will be sent home. You will be spending the majority of your time outside on Saturday and Sunday so be sure to dress in layers to stay warm. Cadets are to arrive at the Armoury at 1900hrs Friday Night and must be picked up at 1530hrs on Sunday.
Drill Team practice Monday night. Drill team without arms will practice from 1930 to 2030hrs. Drill team with arms will practice from 2030 to 2130hrs. Parade boots, wedge, and a filled water bottle are required for all practices.
Wednesday March 2nd is sports night. Cadets must wear their red squadron t-shirt, athletic pants or shorts, and, running shoes. Red squadron t-shirts are available from Mrs. Dombroskie in the office for $15.
Marksmanship Practice is canceled for this Thursday.
Best of luck to F Sgt Frampton & Sgt Frampton who will be traveling to Valcartier Quebec this weekend to participate in the National Biathlon Competition.

Wake-A-Thon is this Saturday, cadets are to arrive at the Armoury @ 1900hrs and be picked up Sunday morning at 0800hrs. Cadets must have already handed in their pledge forms and money or must bring it with them on Saturday in order to participate. Bring a filled water bottle.

As of this morning, with the forecast calling for +7 and rain by this afternoon, our sports night (now inside) and mock interviews are going ahead as scheduled for tonight. Of course parent/guardian(s) and cadets are to use their judgement when deciding whether or not to venture out on the roads. If you decide not to head out on the roads or are worried about what the road conditions will be at 2115hrs then simply call the office (613-732-4470 ext. 227) to report your absence. Safety first!
Cadets participating in the mock interviews have been given details with regards to tonight's schedule. All other cadets are to come prepared to participate in sports (i.e. red Squadron tshirt, PT gear, filled water bottle, etc...). If you require a red Squadron tshirt they can be purchased from the Squadron's kitshop for $15.00. All cadets must purchase a Squadron tshirt.

If you would also like to Fly a world class Flight Simulator, or see what a fully functional C6 Machine Gun Trainer operates like, or witness the state of the art Night Vision Goggle training Classroom, then you will need to sign up for the CAE Flight Simulator visit.

Weekly Announcements for Wednesday, January 20, 2016
1. Marksmanship Practice this Thursday and going forward until the competition
is only for the ten cadets that have been identified by Lt(N) Forde for the two
range teams. Practice is at the Armoury from 1800-2100hrs.
2.The next meeting for the Rocket/Model Club is Thursday, January 28,
2016 from 1900-2100hrs. Rocket Club is always open to new members. Come on out
and have some fun.
3. Biathlon practice this week:
-Skiing on Saturday at Forest Lea from 1330-1500hrs
-Shooting on Sunday in Beachburg from 1230-1530

4.Drill Team practice on Monday, January 25, 2016 is cancelled because

5. Thank you to the cadets who have sold their lottery tickets. It is

Hodder on Wednesday nights to sign out their book. The deadline for the tickets
to be returned is Wednesday, February 24, 2016.
6. Interview preparation classes will be held each Wednesday for cadets
who have applied for a National Summer Training Course. They will take place in
the Ante Room from 1800-1830hrs. Mock interviews will be scheduled in the
following weeks and the actual interviews take place in North Bay on Saturday,
February 6, 2016.
7. Effective immediately the Squadron will be enforcing its uniform and
EpiPen policies. Firstly, cadet are expected to show up in full uniform
including appropriate hair styles. Cadets who have been issued a uniform and
don’t show up in uniform will be sent home. Secondly, cadets who require access
to an EpiPen must carry it on them at all times. Cadets requiring access to an
EpiPen who attend cadet activities without it will be sent home.
8. The Squadron
will be holding it's Wake-A-Thon fundraiser on 6-7 February 2016. Cadets can
pick up their pledge forms at the office or download them from Facebook or the
Blog. A minimum pledge of $60 is needed in order to participate. Start
collecting your pledges now and join the fun.
9. Next Wednesday
is our Monthly CO’s Parade.
Parent/guardian(s), family, and friends are invited to attend. Everyone should be seated by 2030hrs.
10. The Squadron’s
Winter FTX (AKA “Operation Olaf”) is scheduled for 26-28 February 2016. Permission slips have been distributed and
will be posted on Facebook and the Blog soon.

Mock interviews will be scheduled in the following weeks and the actual interviews take place in North Bay on Saturday, February 6, 2016.
