After a little bit of rain Saturday morning the rocket club has successfully completed their first launch. Using MARKS ( the latest in rocket pacing measurement technology ) we counted out how many paces rockets were from a target and used that to gauge who won prizes. First place with only 11 marks is Justin Keeping, with a tie for second is James McCafferty and Sara Hill with 13 marks, third place goes to Chandler Lapointe with 14 marks and with the farthest away from the target is Jade Johnstone with 263 Marks. A big thanks to Cpl. Mooij, OCdt Snelgrove and to all who participated, a big shout out to Abmer Luloff for the use of the Luloff family farm.

June 14th will be the First Rocket Club launch, being held at the Luloff farm. (251 Kelly Lake Road, directions were handed out at tonight’s meeting) Transportation will not be provided and cadets must make their own arrangements there and back. Cadets are asked to arrive no earlier than 10:30 and no later than 11:15. The road is one way road so all vehicles will have to leave at once. We ask all parents to start arriving at 16:30 for pick up. Prizes will be handed out to cadets who can complete certain challenges such as hitting landing targets and furthest highest achieved. All cadets have one rocket engine included in there kits and it is recommended that more are purchased. Each rocket engine is $5 and I am sure after you launch one you will want to do another, especially if you are out there all day. The weather forecast for the weekend looks good but the Facebook group and the blog will be updated just in case of a change of weather. The 15th will be used as a backup day. All cadets are to bring water bottles, bug spray and sun screen. Cadets are encouraged to bring snacks as meals are not provided but light snacks may be.
